APU Student Excels in Innovation Ambassador Development Programme (IADP)

We are delighted to announce that one of our students, Tan Chin Sern, also a final year Engineering student, has proudly been selected among hundreds of Malaysian students and working professionals to be under the Genovasi Malaysian Foundation IADP (Innovation Ambassador Development Programme). Being the only participant from Malaysia, Tan was academically mentored by Dr Lim Wee Han from the APU School of Engineering.

IADP is a programme which Design Thinking, a methodology that will help users to uncover their potential in innovating user-focused services, products and experiences. Together with other participants throughout the world, Tan has underwent the Design Thinking programme from 23 November 2013 to 26 January 2014. The programme consisted of core level to understand the Design Thinking methodology, to solve real world problems in partnership with top Malaysian companies and a work placement to work on real world challenges to create innovative solutions.Tan, who has actively participated in this programme, has enhanced his innovation and creativity, which in the future, will place him ahead of other Engineering students in terms of employability and skills.
