Colours of Sri Lanka @ APU

As a member of the multicultural community in APU, the APU Sri Lankan Community has demonstrated their unique culture by organizing the “Colours of Sri Lanka” event on the 26th of June 2014. Other than APU staff members, lecturers and students, Mr Sanjeewa Pattiwila, First Secretary, Ms. L.A.M.S.K Wanigasekara and Mr. J.M.R.U.Jayasinghe, Second Secretary, have arrived from the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Malaysia, to participate in this event as well.

Throughout the night, the performers impressed the audience with a series of performances, such as the Kapiringna dance, Cricket dance and Isthuthi Sri Lanka performance, which all of them portrayed the zestful culture of Sri Lanka. Apart from that, the audience was also well-entertained by the laughing competition, and the fashion show, which demonstrated the Sri Lankan traditional outfits. The night ended with serving of traditional Sri Lankan food, such as the Kothu Roti. Sri Lanka is the largest tea producer around the world, and eventually, Sri Lankan tea was being served to the audience throughout the event.
