Maahefun @ APU

“Maahefun” is a traditional celebration in Maldives where the people will gather and have a meal together before the fasting month of Ramadan begins. This is a long practiced tradition in the country and is practiced every year by almost everyone with invitation sent to all families and friends. Local food and dishes such as bodibaiy, modunu faroshi, modunu aveli, dry fish, coconut and bodi haluvaa are often served at Maahefun celebrations.

On the 21st of June (Saturday), the celebration was held at APU, organized by the Maldivian Students Association. The event saw more than 70 participants, which included students and their family members. While savouring on the home-cooked traditional food, Maldivian students fostered stronger bonds and relationship between each other.
