EAC Accreditation Results

We are pleased to inform that three of our Engineering programmes have obtained an extension renewal of accreditation by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).


The programmes are:
•    B.Eng (Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
•    B.Eng (Hons) in Electronic Engineering with a specialism in Information Technology
•    B.Eng (Hons) in Mechatronic Engineering


These programmes have been accreditated by BEM for graduating years 2014 to 2016. The other programme, B.Eng (Hons) in Telecommunication Engineering will be having an accreditation visit in January 2015 for renewal of accreditation.


All of APU’s Engineering programmes are fully accredited by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) which is a signatory to the Washington Accord. This accreditation ensures that APU Engineering Graduates will have the following benefits in countries who are signatories of the Washington Accord:


•    Opportunities to register as a Graduate Engineer with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) or the relevant professional bodies in other countries who are signatories under the Washington Accord.
•    Pathways to becoming a Professional or Chartered Engineer.
•    Assurance that graduates are considered as having met international academic standards for engineering practice.
