APU Students Goes On "Speed Dating" Sessions With Potential Employers

On the 22nd of January 2015 (Thursday), APU Careers Centre organised the Interns Connect “Pitch My Talent” Day, in collaboration with 1 Malaysia 4 Youth (iM4U) and Jobstreet Malaysia. The event was targeted at students from the School of Computing & IT who were looking to secure internship opportunities in prestigious companies. Apart from APU students, Kolej Komuniti Kuala Langat, Kolej Komuniti Banting and UCSI students took part in the event as well.

Renowned and prestigious companies took part in this event, such as Zalora, Hitachi Data Systems, Silverlake, Domino’s and many more. The event was an interesting experience for the 200 students who participated; as they met their potential employers through “speed dating” sessions, where students were given only 5 minutes to interact with HR personnel from each company. Shortlisted candidates who were able to impress the employers will be called for an interview after the event.

The full-day session was highly beneficial to all students who took part, as it gave them the opportunities to secure an internship with top employers, as well as provided them with the real-life experience of meeting potential employers. We look forward to more events of a similar nature, to ensure the employability and professionalism of our students.
