Formation of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) Student Chapter

It is to share with great pleasure that our petition to form IEEE Student Branch Chapter for IEEE Computational Intelligence Society at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) has been approved. The petition was approved by the IEEE Geographic Activities Department (New Jersey, USA) on April 6, 2015.

APU-IEEE student branch already has the honour of successfully running IEEE Computer Society (CS) and IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc)  chapters since last year. Establishment of CIS Chapter is the latest addition towards achieving another milestone.

CIS has over 100 local Chapters distributed all over the world, which serve their local members. CIS focuses on the theory, design, application, and development of computational paradigms emphasizing on neural networks, connectionist systems, genetic  algorithms, evolutionary programming, fuzzy systems, and hybrid intelligent systems. Through more than a decade development, CIS has become a world leading professional organisation in its field.

According to the latest (2012) Journal Citation Reports (JCR), our flagship Transactions (on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, on Fuzzy Systems, and on Evolutionary Computation) and Computational Intelligence Magazine are all ranked within the top 5% among 465 Computer Science journals based on both the 2-year and 5-year impact factors.
