Dutch World's University Debating Championship (WUDC) 2017 - APU Debating Team Placed Second in Worldwide Debating Finals

Here comes the first good news of the year!

Our heartfelt congratulations to APU Debating Team A, comprising Eric Onuoha and Sadiq Ayinde on their successful outing at the just concluded Worlds University Debating Championship Dutch Worlds 2017.  The team broke 7th in the English as a second Language category and made it all the way to the finals, in what was an intense debate round; the team came second in the finals losing on a 5-4 split decision among the 9 panel of judges to the eventual Champion Tel Aviv A.

Nevertheless, it was an extremely remarkable success and we are proud of the boys! We look forward to hearing more success stories in this upcoming academic year of 2017!

Debating Success

We are pleased to share that two of our debate teams, comprising Nurul Qistina Abdul Karim and Eric Onuoha (Team APU A) and Zhiyun Chia and Sadiq Ayinde (Team APU B) excelled at The Great Royal Gender Debate 2016, that was held at the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) recently.

The Great Royal Gender Debate 2016, hosted by the NAM Institute for the Empowerment of Women (NIEW) in collaboration with Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM), was an initiative to create a platform for youths to debate on social and gender issues faced in society.

Both APU teams demonstrated impressive performance, in which team APU A made it all the way to semi-finals, whereas team APU B made it all the way to the finals, and attained the 4th Place award. Do join us in congratulating the teams! Well done!
