APU PRE-MASTERS PREPARATORY PROGRAMME FOR IT


Prepare Yourself For A Career In AI & Data Science

Our Masters Preparatory Programme (MPP) is designed to equip students from non-computing backgrounds with the essential knowledge needed for their particular Masters programme.  As many of our Masters programmes are open to individuals with non-computing qualifications, there is a little background preparation needed so as to ensure that students have the prerequisite knowledge and skills required to undertake their Masters studies in Information Technology. The MPP is offered for the Masters Programmes below:

Part-time students are expected to complete the prerequisite modules and assessment within a maximum of 8 weeks.


APU Delivery Approach

PMP modules leading to our preferred Masters Programme are as follows: 

MSc in Data Science and Business Analytics^Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence*
  • Programming in Python
  • Statistics
  • Database for Data Science
  • Introduction R-programming
  • Programming in Python
  • Data Structure and Algorithms
  • Fundamental of Artificial Intelligence

Admission Requirements For The Programmes Above:

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum CGPA of 2.75 out of 4.00, or its equivalent qualification as acceptable by the Senate.
  • Bachelor’s degree with CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00, but below CGPA 2.75; can be accepted with rigorous assessment (include test, interview or portfolio).
  • Bachelor’s degree with CGPA below 2.50 out of 4.00, or a qualification which is equivalent can be accepted with minimum 5 years relevant working experience in related fields.
  • English Requirements: IELTS 5.0 for International Students.

Notes: 
^ Fundamental skills in programming, database, mathematics and statistics would be an added advantage. 
Applicants without a Computing-related Bachelor’s degree must pass the pre-requisite modules to continue with the Master’s Degree.
