Beyond Lectures: 360° Media Marketing Secrets Revealed During Media Agency Visit by APU Students

APU Media and Communication students are taken out of the classroom to learn about BLWN’s 360° Media Marketing Agency secrets and engage in discussions with media marketing experts, digital strategists, creative heads, designers, web developers, event managers, and even the CEO.

Stepping out of a classroom and into the heart of a buzzing media and marketing agency is what Media and Communication students dream of.

A total of ten students from Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) participated in an industrial visit adventure that led them to BLWN Sdn. Bhd. in Petaling Jaya, Selangor on 25th March 2024.

BLWN is a marketing agency that specialises in providing 360°-degree business marketing solutions, including graphic design, branding, digital marketing, events, strategy, creative development, digital performance, and social media management.

This industrial visit was not a student’s typical field trip. It was a gateway into the dynamic and ever-changing world of digital media and marketing because BLWN is more than just an office; it is a hive of passionate marketers with creative minds that have over 15 years of expertise, and their philosophy is simple but powerful: marketing with a purpose.

Ms Elillarasi Kuppusamy and Ms Vaneetha Sagadevan from the School of Marketing and Management (SoMM) provided the students with this one-of-a-kind opportunity to glimpse into BLWN’s 360° world and engage in discussions with media marketing experts, digital strategists, creative heads, designers, web developers, event managers, and even the CEO, Mr Chan Leong Teng!

With this opportunity, their learning was not just theoretical because engaging in activities gave the students a first-hand look at the inner workings of the digital marketing landscape.

Eager to learn about the future of marketing, the students were captivated by industry experts who shared insights on current trends and future predictions.

These experts also shed light on the strategic processes that drive marketing success, igniting a passion in the students and leaving them eager for more collaboration with BLWN.

Impact is undeniable

The industrial visit’s impact is undeniable. Students like Fahima Mohamed Mohamud shared that the BLWN industrial visit was eye-opening!

“Seeing the work environment and gaining real-world knowledge was inspiring.”

Morgan Mak Lee added “The hands-on project at the BLWN workshop pushed us to think creatively. With their guidance, we were able to craft a comprehensive digital media strategy, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-life applications.”

Ms Elillarasi and Ms Vaneetha were pleased that this field trip was more than just a day out, but also sparked an interest in the intriguing world of 360-degree marketing.

“Armed with valuable knowledge and newfound connections, these students are one step closer to navigating the ever-evolving marketing landscape like seasoned professionals,” Ms. Elillarasi explained.

“Learning was not a one-way process,” added Ms Vaneetha. That is why they offered critical insights into how to better prepare APU’s future media and marketing leaders.

“On behalf of both the students and SoMM, a heartfelt thank you goes out to the BLWN team for their warm hospitality and for creating an exceptional learning opportunity.”
