The Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) was named as the “Cyber Security Education and Training Provider of the Year”, during the Cyber Security Malaysia annual awards event held on Thursday 14th November 2013. The award was presented to APU by the Deputy Ministry of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Datuk Dr Abu Bakar bin Mohamad Diah.
This marks the third time that has APU won the award, having previously also achieved the same accolade in 2009 and 2012.
The Cyber Security Malaysia Awards is an annual awards programme organised by CyberSecurity Malaysia, which is the country’s national cyber security specialist agency operating under MOSTI.
These Awards are presented to distinguished individuals and organisations in recognition of their significant achievements and contributions to the cyber security industry.
In receiving this award, APU was recognized for our continuous achievements in talent and skills development by producing highly employable graduates from our Bachelor Degree Programmes in Information Security and Forensic Computing, as well as offering a broad range of Security-related training and certification programmes (through APIIT Corporate Training).
Award nominees were independently assessed by Deloitte Consulting Malaysia, and among factors considered were the number of students trained, course methodology and programmes offered, innovation training methods, key customer wins and achievement as well as the diversity of portfolio of programmes.
Congratulations to the entire APU Staff and Student Community for this proud achievement!
