Recently, the School of Business (SoB) at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) organised “Bricks to Business;” an engaging initiative designed to connect creativity, digital innovation, and industry perspectives through e-business and e-commerce

Coordinated by Ms Lovina Yogarajan (Lecturer, SoB at APU), the programme provided students with an interactive platform to explore entrepreneurship, prototyping, digital innovation, and emerging technologies, while considering how ideas can be developed into potential business opportunities.
Building Ideas through Hands-On Innovation

The programme commenced with a Lego Serious Play session (a facilitated method that uses Lego bricks to help participants communicate ideas, explore business challenges, solve problems, and develop strategic thinking through 3D models), led by Mr Soo Ren Chang, Mr Aaron Chan, and Ms Jessica Low, Founders of Interlock & Infinity.
Through a hands-on and collaborative approach, students used physical building blocks to develop, visualise, and communicate ideas; encouraging them to approach problem-solving from different perspectives.
The activity demonstrated how simple building blocks can be used as a creative tool to stimulate ideation, strategic thinking, collaboration, and innovation, while allowing students to experiment with concepts and translate abstract ideas into tangible forms.
Understanding the changing Digital Business Landscape

The programme continued with an industry keynote session, delivered by Mr Jay Wong, Director of Troffee Education.
The session explored digital solutions, artificial intelligence (AI), and employability skills; highlighting the changing expectations of businesses and the importance of developing relevant capabilities for an increasingly digital economy.
The session also encouraged students to consider the importance of combining technical awareness with communication, adaptability, and other employability skills, as they prepare for the evolving workplace.
Connecting learning with Real-World Applications
Overall, the programme reflected APU’s emphasis on experiential learning by providing students with opportunities to connect academic knowledge with practical innovation and industry perspectives.
On top of that, the programme encouraged students to think beyond conventional business models and consider how technology can support new forms of value creation, while encouraging them to explore new possibilities across the e-business and e-commerce landscape.
