Turning Experience and Expertise into a Master’s Qualification

Step 1: EXPLORE

Step 2: APPLY

Submit your APEL Q Application

Complete your APEL.Q application and submit the required supporting documents to proceed with the assessment process.

Step 3: ASSESS

Complete the APEL Q assessment 

Your prior experiential learning is assessed through four stages

Portfolio 20%
A portfolio that brings together evidence of what you have learned, achieved and developed through your prior experiences.

Field and Validation Visit (FVV) 20%
Evaluate the learner’s knowledge, skills and competencies through an appropriate assessment conducted at the workplace or a suitable assessment location.

Capstone Course 30%
The Capstone Course brings together the programme’s key learning outcomes, giving candidates the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and overall mastery. An oral examination forms part of the assessment.

Successfully complete the required APEL.Q assessment stages and applicable programme requirements to progress towards the award of the relevant academic qualification.
