Go Ahead! with Maybank & APU

In conjunction with the Maybank Go Ahead! Challenge – Campus Level which was held in the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU), a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony has also taken place, in which APU and Maybank will collaborate to create more opportunities for APU graduates and students, as well as to improve the quality of education provided in APU with the establishment of the Industry Advisory Panel in Maybank.

Those who were present at the ceremony include the Head of Talent Acquisition of Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank), Mr. Hishamuddin Saleh and the Vice President for Operations of APU, Mr. Gurpardeep Singh. The ceremony took place at 9am on the 24th of May 2014 (Saturday). Upon signing the MoU, employment and internship opportunities with Maybank has been given to APU students and qualified graduates. Under the MoU, an Industry Advisory Panel, which consists of representatives from Maybank, would assist in programme development and review, to ensure that the programmes provided by APU meet industry requirements in respective fields of study.

At the same time, the Maybank Go Ahead! Challenge – Campus Level has attracted 80 local and international students who came as far as from Singapore, Hong Kong, India and Australia, to compete for qualification in the National Level of the Worldwide Go Ahead! Challenge, which is also organised by Maybank. 21 APU students have been shortlisted to participate in the challenge, and 5 of them, David Tai Da Wei, Sheetal Yajna Devi Proag, Arina Kungeibayeva, Jennifer Erwin and Ali Atiq have gained the passes to the National Level, which is about to be held in the month of June or July.

About Maybank Go Ahead! Challenge

Maybank GO Ahead. Challenge (MGAC) is an international business case challenge featuring top students from the Asian region and UK. This international business case competition offers students an excellent opportunity to challenge their imagination, technical knowledge and soft skills, but also evaluate their strength of character throughout the three levels: Campus, National and International. All Grand Finalists will be awarded cash prizes and fast passes to join our Global Maybank Apprentice Programme (GMAP). The Programme will further nurture raw talent they possess, honing it and shaping them into the future leaders of Maybank. They may also be able to interact with some of the most successful and influential people in the financial industry.
