Chong Hwa Independent High School KL Bags TOP 3 of APU’s FIRST EVER “QR Sch Invasion” Competition

The Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) organised its first ever “QR Sch Invasion” Competition – A treasure hunt that was based on QR Codes. The competition took place on the 16th of August (Saturday), within the APU campus located in Technology Park Malaysia, Bukit Jalil. It was jointly organised by staffs from APU’s Student Services Department and lecturers from APU’s School of Computing & Technology.

The competition that commenced at 9.30am saw participation of around 100 secondary school students from Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. All participating students and teachers were given a uniquely-designed button badge, which contained a QR code that leads to APU’s official website.  As the countdown timer started ticking, participants who were teams of 3 students, raced among each other to every corner of the building, from classrooms to the auditorium, to search for the hidden QR Codes, which contained generic questions on the Computing & IT field.

Chong Hwa Independent High School, KL, shocked the audience and participants as all 3 teams of students were announced as top 3 winners of the competition. The teams walked away with HP printers, Touro external hard disks and Yoobao powerbanks respectively. Trophies were given to them as well, as tokens of achievement. On the other hand, Asia Pacific Smart School (APSS), a member of the APIIT Education Group, bagged the Fourth Place and Fifth Place.

Chong Hwa Independent High School’s winning team happily received a HP Printer each from Mr Peter Hoonaert, Dean of School of Computing, Engineering & Technology (SCET), APU (Right)

“It is not all about winning or losing, it is all about teamwork and excitement”, said Mr Peter Hoonaert, Dean of School of Computing, Engineering & Technology (SCET), APU, at the prize giving ceremony.
