GOOD HEALTH & WELL BEING @APU

The health and well-bring of our students is of paramount importance to APU. In this regard, APU offers a wide range of services and facilities to ensure that students have access to the best possible care, covering both Physical Health matters (offered at our fully-equipped on-campus clinic) and Mental Health-Care Issues (under the Centre of Psychology and Well-Being). Sexual and Reproductive Health-Care (SRH) forms an integral component of education and care offered by both these facilities.

The term ‘sexual and reproductive health’ can be defined as a person’s right to a healthy body and the autonomy, education, healthcare and how to avoid sexually transmitted infections or unintended pregnancy. Access to SRH services enable people to exercise this right. It can take the form of medical care related to the reproductive system, for example, to treat a sexually transmitted infection, or the facilitation of reproductive autonomy with the provision of contraception.

OUR SRH GOALS:

To outline the principles and guidelines to provide inclusive, non-discriminatory and evidence based care that respects the rights and choices of all individuals.

APU is accountable for ensuring the processes are implemented. Implementation will be embedded in all new decisions/ operations and activities. All APU stakeholders have a responsibility to ensure that the aims and objectives of the policy are met.
