APU PRE-DEPARTURE BRIEFING IN MAURITIUS 2016 - MAY 2016

MAURITIUS HIGH COMMISSIONER IN MALAYSIA VISITS ASIA PACIFIC UNIVERSITY (APU) - MAY 2016

What do our Mauritian alumnis say about Asia Pacific University (APU)?

APU has not only given me the chance to study what I wanted but it has also helped me develop the essential skills I needed to secure my dream job right after graduation! Studying and working alongside with people from all over the world was a knowledge-and-exposure enriching experience. My lecturers and other staffs were very friendly and helpful. The study resources and facilities provided to us were of high standard and APU always encouraged me to think "outside-the-box" and opened my eyes into a whole new horizon. I was a also proud member of the Student Welcome Team and Student Ambassadors Team. The challenges that I went through in my student life being away from my family and beloved Mauritius had actually transformed me into the independent and responsible person that I am today. I am now working in the IT Security Team of an international company in Malaysia and I'm proud to say that I'm an APU Graduate!

Asia Pacific University is ranked among the best private Universities in Malaysia. I had the privilege of studying Software Engineering in this university and have graduated with a First Class Honours award. Being an international student, the friendly atmosphere and cultural diversity there made it easy for me to adapt. The lecturer-student relationship at APU is great. Lecturers are able to communicate their knowledge and know-how to their students, enabling us to develop within the system. Also, the contents of the courses and the framing offered are ideal to help someone develop his full potential. Furthermore, the university provides all the students with facilities of International Standards. I also had the opportunity to become a Student Ambassador, implying working alongside with the staff of the University when it comes to dealings in Student Services and International Office. This has helped me to gain experiences in working with people of diverse culture, inducing a corporate working environment in my mindset even before graduation. This really helped me to become self-disciplined and acquire skills such as commitment, self-motivation and confidence.
