Seven APU Educators Honoured as Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts

In today's increasingly digital world, educators must be at the forefront of technology to ensure that their students are prepared for the future. Seven APU educators have been recognised as Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Experts 2023/2024 for their dedication to using technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences.

Every year, Microsoft carefully selects MIE Experts to be part of this prestigious global community, leading the charge in sharing innovative ideas, exploring new teaching methods, and fostering collaborative learning.

The seven APU educators who have been recognised as MIE Experts are:

  • Ms. Analisa Binti Hamdan (Digital Learning Hub)
  • Ts. Jerry Chong Chean Fuh (School of Technology)
  • Mr. Matthew Wee Ann Poh (School of Computing)
  • Mr. Mohamad Firdaus Che Abdul Rani (School of Computing)
  • Ms. Sathiapriya A/P Ramiah (School of Computing)
  • Ts. Dr. Siti Azreena Binti Mubin (School of Computing)
  • Mr. Wong Chung Wei (School of Computing)

These educators have demonstrated their proficiency in using Microsoft technology to create more engaging, inclusive, and personalised learning experiences for their students.

The effective use of MS Teams, MS Whiteboard, MS OneNote, MS Forms and other tools not only makes a class livelier, but they are also creating a more inclusive learning environment that stimulates collaboration and inquisitiveness, as well as allowing our lecturers to collect data of students’ performance.

The MIE Expert programme is an annual programme dedicated to recognising global educator visionaries through self-nomination.

A MIE Expert is exposed to first-hand information and invitation to Microsoft educator conferences & publications, certification and recognition badges, as well as gaining access to exclusive Microsoft Educator Network privileges.

Special thanks to Ts. Jerry Chong Chean Fuh for initiating the session with our respective academicians in sharing relevant knowledge and necessary training to support our colleagues in becoming better educators!
