APU and Korea Valuation Association (KVA) Join Forces for Technology Advancements


Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) and Korea Valuation Association (KVA) are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen their collaboration in technology research, development, and education.

The MOU, signed on September 25th, marks the beginning of a promising partnership between the two organisations.

APU, a renowned private higher educational institution in Malaysia with the Premier Digital Tech University status awarded by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), offers a wide range of technology-focused degree programmes and has a strong track record in teaching and technology development. KVA, on the other hand, is a prominent organisation in Korea engaged in technology commercialisation, technology valuation, and start-up support.

The key objectives of this collaboration include the promotion of research and development (R&D) in the field of start-ups, enhancing existing technology practices, and facilitating knowledge and technology sharing between academic and industry players.

The partnership will also focus on student internships, career opportunities, industrial final-year projects, and joint conferences. Both organisations will act as mentors for start-ups and guest speakers for webinars and talks.

This collaboration was formalised by Professor Dr. Ho Chin Kuan, Vice Chancellor of APU; and Dr. Keeheon Cho, Executive Director of KVA, with the esteemed presence of Prof. Ir. Eur. Ing. Ts. Dr. Vinesh Thiruchelvam, Chief Innovation and Enterprise Officer of APU.

The ceremony took place at APU’s ultra-modern purpose-built campus in MRANTI Park, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, and was attended by key representatives from both organisations, including Ms. Dami Seo, Manager of KVA, and Professor Dr. Angelina Yee Seow Voon, Director of Research and Enterprise of APU.

"The signing of this MOU is a significant step forward in our efforts to foster innovation and technological advancement," said Prof. Ho. "We are excited to work closely with KVA to create opportunities for our students and contribute to the growth of the technology ecosystem."

Dr. Keeheon Cho expressed wholehearted support for the collaboration, stating, “KVA is committed to promoting technology commercialisation and entrepreneurship. This partnership with APU will enable us to leverage each other's strengths and create a meaningful impact in the field.”

Under the MoU, both parties will select candidates, students, or staff to participate in various activities, with the hosting party providing necessary mentorship and resources. APU will offer academic support and access to facilities, while KVA will provide expertise and support for joint research and development projects.

The newly established partnership is expected to enhance the synergy between academia and industry, fostering innovation that transcends borders and propelling the technology landscape forward. Together, APU and KVA are poised to usher in a new era in technology research and education.
